Katie’s Komets Junior Varsity basketball team traveled to Omaha, Nebraska in March 2006. The team played a great tournament and won the sportsmanship award. The Varsity basketball team qualified and traveled to Houston, Texas for the Junior National Championship, where the team finished 15th in the country. Both teams made Philadelphia proud.
During the summer of 2006, five athletes from the teams qualified for the national finals in track, field and swimming. They traveled to Tampa, Fla. to compete among the best athletes in the country. Well done, team. Sixteen-year-old Kaitlyn Willard a championship athlete was invited to Atlanta, Georgia to train for a possible position on the U.S.A. Para-Olympic track team. Great Job, Kaitlyn.
