SEAWALL PROJECT IN OUR AREA WILL CONTINUE INTO  2008 (AT LEAST)

The Wildwoods Taxpayers Association (www.wwtpa.org) has learned that the Seawall Project will continue in our area until at least 2008.  This present work is NOT the end!

The present contractors, Agate Construction, have been granted an exemption to the ordinance that prohibits work from 8 am until 6 pm by the City of North Wildwood. The City Administrator, Ray Townsend, has notified us of this.  Agate can work 24/7 if they choose to and the City has amended Ordinance 308 to allow this, without notifying us or asking for our input as reassessed taxpayers.  The City of North Wildwood has employed people who live outside our area for this project. They are not taxpayers here, yet they are making decisions about our quality of life and what we have to tolerate daily.

This is the second time the Seawall has been reconstructed since 1998, as the first one that was installed failed!

We are sick of this noise, vibration to our homes and the impact on our quality of lives.  If you are too, please contact the following:  The Wildwoods Taxpayers Association at mvsathome@aol.com; Ray Townsend at rtownsend@northwildwood.com (609-522-6464); Bill Henfey,  the Mayor of North Wildwood at (609-522-1624) bhenfey@northwildwood.com; Keith Watson, Army Corps of Engineers (215-656-6287); John Dougherty at the Army Corps of Engineers Trailer across from Westy’s (609-522-3675) or the Project Manager for the Army Corps of Engineers, John Tunnell, (215-656-6032).

Many of us and our friends may be non-resident taxpayers but without us this City couldn’t meet its annual budget of $21 million. Let’s get some good representation in this town!  Too many non-residents work in the North Wildwood City Hall.  They don’t own property here and they are ruining the quality of our lives!  Let’s get rid of them!
